Join Jonas Joppa and the rest of the God Squad from Alleluia Aquatic Academy as they venture out in a submarine to learn more about God through His underwater world. Under Professor Gill's direction, the students learn to navigate the sometimes murky waters of life by seeking God's Word daily. On Sunday, May 3, there was tragic shooting at the Trestle Trail Bridge in Menasha. A student from our school, Olivia (11 years old) and her father Jon Stoffel, were killed in the shooting. Jon's wife, Erin, was also shot, and has been upgraded from critical to stable condition at a local hospital. The other Stoffel children were not harmed.
In response to this tragedy, will you please pray? Please pray for Erin to continue to recover from her wounds. Pray for the doctors who are taking care of her. Pray for the Stoffel family and those close to them as they process this tragedy. Pray for the other families involved as they grieve the loss of loved ones. Pray also for the FVCA teachers and administrators who are counseling with families in the school.
We have to keep at least two things in mind: First, what happened last night was awful. It is a tragedy that hits us close to home. It is important for us to honestly mourn, weep, and cry out to God as we process this. Second, at the same time, we have hope. We have hope first of all, that Jon and Olivia are right now with their Lord Jesus. We also have hope that Erin will survive this. And finally, we have hope that God will redeem this tragedy for his glory.
We have established a love offering for the Stoffel family. If God is leading you to help them financially, you can either write out a check to Calvary Bible Church with “Stoffels” in the memo line, or you can give online through our website link below. Mail or drop off donations to the Church Office (PO Box 799, Neenah, WI 54957) or place in the Sunday offering. (Please note: gifts are NOT tax-deductible)
In the days and weeks ahead, the Stoffel family will need our love and support in various ways. Further information on how CBC & FVCA will be supporting and caring for the Stoffel family can be found on this page.
